Return-to-play (RTP) is the single highest-stakes decision in sports medicine. Get it wrong and you re-injure. Get it right and you return stronger than before. We use an objective, criteria-based RTP battery — not a calendar, not a feeling.
What our RTP testing covers
- Strength symmetry: isokinetic or hand-held dynamometer where appropriate — target ≥ 90% of the uninvolved side.
- Hop tests: single-leg hop, triple hop, crossover hop, 6-metre timed hop — limb symmetry index ≥ 90%.
- Agility / change-of-direction: 505, T-test, sport-specific drills.
- Sport-specific load: sprint mechanics for footballers and cricketers, jump-landing for badminton, lifting patterns for gym athletes.
- Psychological readiness: ACL-RSI scale for knee-surgery returnees; fear-avoidance for chronic pain returnees.
Who this is for
- Athletes returning from ACL reconstruction, ankle ligament repair, shoulder stabilization.
- Recreational competitors heading into a tournament or season after time off.
- Runners returning after a stress fracture or significant tendinopathy.
- Anyone whose surgeon or treating physio has cleared them medically but who wants an objective second look before going full intensity.
